PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the presence of protein, the quantity and the kind thereof to be determined. SOLUTION: A protein detecting element including a coupling part having a property coupling specifically to the protein, a nucleotide chain and a fluorescent dye group, and having a sensing part for detecting that the protein is coupled to the coupling part is arranged on a first electrode, the electrode is immersed into a sample liquid containing the protein, an electric field constant in the potential difference or fluctuated time-serially is applied between the first electrode and a second electrode inserted into the sample liquid, and light emission or extinction is detected by the sensing part.
