Profiling system for endless flat sheet without using additional tools uses two laser beams brought to focus on strip to promote bending of edges

The laser profiling system (1) for the endless flat sheet (3) operates without using any additional mechanical tools. It uses two laser beams (11,12) brought to focus (14,15) on the strip to promote partial melting and upward bending of the edges. A further laser beam may be generated by a laser (34) under the center of the strip. There are air or liquid cooling jets (29,30) following immediately after the laser heads (4,5). A single carbon dioxide laser (8) produces intense beams of light which pass through optical fibers to the heads which are mounted on positioning systems (21,22).
