METHOD OF MANUFACTURING POROUS MATERIAL AND POROUS MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a porous material composed of a thermosetting resin or a carbonaceous material and having continuous holes controlled in size to the range from meso to macro holes and excellent heat resistance.

SOLUTION: The method comprises mixing a thermosetting resin uniformly with a thermoplastic resin, allowing the thermosetting resin to be hardened and removing the thermoplastic resin to produce a porous material having continuous holes. The carbonaceous porous material is obtained by removing the thermoplastic resin through burning.
