<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device like a translucent reflection type liquid crystal device performing color transmission display with normal color cast and bright color reflection type display. <P>SOLUTION: This electro-optical device has an electro-optical substance 50 held between a first substrate 10 and a second substrate 20, and a display electrode 14 provided on a part of the first substrate facing the second substrate. The device is further equipped with a first color filter 141 having a selective reflection region reflecting light within a predetermined wavelength range for every pixel and a light transmission region for transmitting light within or outside of a predetermined wavelength range for every pixel, a light shielding film 143 disposed to face the selective reflection region, and a second color filter 142 having a selective transmission region for selectively transmitting light within a predetermined wavelength for every pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
