<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To benefit from the security of data communication in the Internet and that of a network. <P>SOLUTION: This invention discloses a method based on Border Gateway Protocol communication for controlling communication security protection. The method comprises a communicating process of authentication mechanism and an authentication word between a sending side and a receiving side. The receiving side authenticates a 16-byte tag field in a BGP communication head of the communication sent by the sending side, based on the authentication mechanism and the authentication word. After the BGP connection is established, the sending side sends a BGP communication according to the 16-byte tag field in the communication head determined by the authentication mechanism and the authentication word. The receiving side authenticates the received BGP communication according to the determined 16-byte tag field in the BGP communication head.
