PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load in a hexavalent chromium elution test being performed in ground improvement. SOLUTION: In a preventive test method for hexavalent chromium elution in the ground improvement, when the ground improvement using cement or a cement-based solidification material is enforced, local soil is sampled, cation exchange capacity and a phosphate absorption coefficient in the soil are measured, it is determined whether hexavalent chromium may be eluted from improved soil using the solidification material or not according to both the measured values in advance, and the cement or cement-based solidification material used for the ground improvement is selected based on the determined result.
