PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent image without causing an image carrier to have memory. SOLUTION: As representative constitution, an image forming device has an image carrier, an image formation part which forms an image by sticking a toner on an electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier, a recording material carrier which carries a recording material to an image formation position of the image formation part, and a transfer means of transferring the image to the recording material carrier; and is characterized in that the transfer means is connected to a power source applying a transfer current, a bipolar voltage applying means which applies a voltage reverse to that when the transfer current is applied is added to the power source, and the voltage applying means is controlled to supply a current having the opposite polarity from the transfer current when an image is not transferred to the recording material, and a current restricting element is connected between the transfer means and the voltage applying means to prevent the current reverse to that when the toner image is transferred, from flowing.
