PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a body in a given shape of a terminal metal fitting equipped with a body of a square cylindrical shape. SOLUTION: The body 31 is formed in nearly a square cylindrical shape by folding a parent metal material punched into a given shape along a length direction. The body 31 is constituted of a bottom wall 33 extended back and forth, a pair of sidewalls 34, 35 erected from both side edges of the bottom wall 33, a ceiling wall 36 protruded from the projected end of the sidewall 34 so as to oppose the bottom wall 33, and an outer wall 37 protruded from the projected end of the sidewall 35 and overlapped on the outside of the ceiling wall 36. The front 37a of the outer wall 37 has a protruded front retaining piece 50, and a front retaining groove 5 with which the front retaining piece 50 can be insertion-coupled is notched. A regulated projected part 70 is fitted at the rear end of the front retaining piece 50, and the front retaining groove 51 has a regulating groove 71 regulating the opening and deformation of the front 37a of the outer wall 37 having the front retaining piece 50 by being locked to the regulated projected part 70.
