PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and readily detect lowering of a voltage of a battery and to adequately finish a recording operation of a printer. SOLUTION: This printer comprises a DC-DC converter 8 for raising a voltage supplied from the battery 7 to a head driving voltage E0, a voltage monitoring section 13 that compares the head driving voltage E0 with a reference voltage Er, supplies the voltage in the low level when the head driving voltage E0 is higher than the reference voltage Er, and supplies the voltage in the high level when the head driving voltage E0 is lower than the reference voltage Er, and an energizing control section 14 that performs the controlling of energizing of a printing head 3 such that the recording in a predetermined recording density is performed when the voltage in the low level is supplied and the recording in a recording density lower than the above predetermined recording density is performed when the voltage in the high level is supplied.
