PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the mounting property of a pattern display unit a driving means for solving the problem that the unit is made of a material having a poor elasticity, lacks fittability and is hard to install on a driving means such as a driven wheel. SOLUTION: The pattern display unit 2 comprises a milky white translucent belt made of urethane elastomer(urethane rubber elastic body) or thermoplastic elastomer(for example, trade name Hytrel(R) by DU PONT-Toray, Inc.) as the main ingredients. The milky white translucent belt has an endless form in which both ends of the belt are connected each other. A plurality of symbols 4 of different kinds are printed on the lateral surface of the display body 3, with quick-drying ink of two pack type isocyanate hardening, and are arranged at a fixed interval in the direction of circumference. A power transmission part 5 is arranged in both ends outside the pattern display area in the internal surface of the display body 3, in such a manner that a recessed part 6 and a projecting part 7 which engage with a driving wheel 11 and a driven wheel 21, are placed in succession in the direction of circumference of the display body 3 at the fixed interval.
