PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very simple method for introducing a polynucleotide into a prokalyotic cell in a sufficient efficiency and capable of being used e.g. as a school education in an elementary or a middle school. SOLUTION: This very simple method for introducing a gene which can be performed by anyone, is characterized by performing the gene introduction to the prokayotic cell having a cell wall consisting mainly of peptidoglycan in the presence of a transfection reagent such as cation liposome, etc., and a polynucleotide, and also introducing the polynucleotide into the cell by adding a complex of the transfection reagent with polynucleotide to the prokayotic cell cultured in an activating medium and then culturing the cell in a selection medium.
