<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal joint capable of easily and securely joining structural members together irrespective of the accuracy of the position of a pull bolt. <P>SOLUTION: The metal joint for joining a vertical member and a horizontal member perpendicular to each other includes an oblong flat plate 11 having a fixing hole and abuttingly fixed to a side of the vertical member by a fixing member; and an engagement element 13 protrudingly fixed to the flat plate 11 and having an oblong engagement hole 13a in a direction perpendicular to the flat plate portion 11b of the flat plate 11. The engagement hole 13a is formed by bending a rectangular plate and securing each end of the plate to the flat plate portion 11b and enables the pull bolt to pass therethrough as the bolt is moved to a desired position in a direction perpendicular to the flat plate portion 11b. The pull bolt is passed through the engagement hole 13b, and a nut is engaged which is disposed between the pair of opposite edges of the engagement hole located on both sides of the pull bolt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
