PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal compressor capable of sufficiently enlarging an operational range by optimizing a position of an opening of a circulating flow passage. SOLUTION: In a centrifugal compressor compressing and discharging air drawn by rotation of an impeller 2 pivotally supported by a fixed housing 1, by mainly centrifugal force, the circulating flow passage 8 making a communication between an air inlet part 3 of the fixed housing 1 to the impeller 2 and a shroud part 5 of the impeller 2 is provided, and an opening of the circulating flow passage 8 in a shroud part side is located on the 2-21% position from a front edge of a blade 6 of the impeller 2 along a meridian.
