PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proper image without moires, even if the number of optical low-pass filters is reduced. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has a photograph lens for forming the optical image of an object, an aperture diaphragm for adjusting the brightness of the optical image formed by the photograph lens, an imaging device for converting the optical image into electrical signals, and an optical low-pass filter disposed at the object side of the imaging device. The diaphragm has an opening in a length side direction and a short side direction and a member for adjusting the opening in the length direction. The filter has an optical low-pass effect, in the same direction as the length direction of the opening but not in the short-side direction of the opening which is perpendicular to the length direction.
