PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To annularly align segment conductors with ease. SOLUTION: A coil end spacer 1 is an insulating member comprising a main wall 11 formed of an annular strip, a large number of projecting parts 12 projecting from the main wall 11, first compartment projections 13, and second compartment projections 14. Firstly, in a bearing process, the coil end spacer 1 is horizontally supported. Next, in a latching process, the substantially U-shaped segment conductors 2 are hung to slits 120 between the projecting parts 12 of the coil end spacer 1 at inverted crowns 23 of turn parts 24 of the projecting parts. Then, in a turning process, skewing parts 21, 22 of the turn parts 24 are accommodated in both grooves 130, 140 between both the compartment projections 13, 14 by turning all the coil end spacers 1. The segment conductors 2 can annularly be aligned without using a conventional annual alignment tool, thus improving an insulating property at the coil end, too. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
