PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a motor by reducing electrical and mechanical contact resistance of a brush and a commutator, and simultaneously to make the service life of the motor longer by decreasing the abrasion and wear of the brush. SOLUTION: This brush is characterized by containing carbon fibers consisting of carbon nano-fibers or carbon nano-tubes, at least the outermost layer of which has conductivity.
