PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a fault occurring due to brush lees in an optical disk driver having a brush motor as a servo motor for moving a head. SOLUTION: A disk-like recording medium driving device includes a spindle motor for rotating a disk-like recording medium, a head for reading data recorded on a recording surface of the medium, a signal processing unit for processing a signal obtained from the head according to reading of the data to obtain reproduced data, a brush motor for moving the head radially of the medium, a brush motor controller for controlling a rotation of the brush motor, and a brush lee removing means for designating so as to high-speed rotate the brush motor by using a seeking operation or the like for the brush motor controller to remove the brush lees generated and stored in the brush motor.
