PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for separately setting a plurality of transmodulators or wiring for the transmodulators with a wiring, such as a cable for centrally controlling the plurality of transmodulators, without preparing a controller, to allow any other transmodulator to take turns in the event of failure in a main transmodulator, thereby improving the reliability of the system, and to have no need for setting a network, if the Bluetooth (R) technology is used for the radio communication between the transmodulators. SOLUTION: The CATV transmodulation system is composed of a plurality of transmodulators, having added radio communication functions. Using the radio communication function, each transmodulator mutually radio-communicates with other transmodulators, to detect a predetermined main transmodulator among the plurality of transmodulators and receives radio-transmitted data set to determine operating conditions of each transmodulator radio-communicated from the detected main transmodulator, thereby setting its own operating conditions, based on the received set data.
