PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a fiber joint optical system whose reliability is excellent and which is highly stable by arranging an aperture. SOLUTION: The fiber joint optical system is constituted by longitudinally successively connecting a laser oscillator 1, a first relay lens 2, a first aperture 3, a second relay lens 4, a second aperture 5, a joint lens 6 and a fiber 7. The first aperture 3 is arranged at a position where an image on the incident end plane of the fiber 7 is formed by the joint lens 6 and the second relay lens 4 and that is between the first relay lens 2 and the second relay lens 4, so that the condensing size of a laser beam made incident on the fiber 7 is restricted. The second aperture 5 is arranged at a position between the second relay lens 4 and the joint lens 6, and restricts the size of a laser beam from the second relay lens 4 and also restricts the converging angle of the laser beam made incident on the fiber 7. The first aperture 3 and the second aperture 5 are constituted of a transparent material whose absorption is reduced and that has heat resistance or glass. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
