PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sustained-release simetryn granule which is useful for weeding and killing algae, has highly controlled elution of simetryn, is gradually eluted even in water with the passage of time after treatment and sufficiently keeps the effect for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The sustained-release simetryn granule comprises simetryn and organic bentonite having a hydrophilic surface prepared by modifying the crystal surface of montmorillonite with a fat-soluble substituent group-containing quaternary ammonium.
