PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and separately feed a variety of sheet materials one by one without mis-feeding and double feeding with a structure having less number of parts. SOLUTION: A projected part 8 in contact with the sheet material P fed by a feed roller 4 is provided between a separation roller 6 having a roller outer peripheral surface in contact with a tilted member 5 and the feed roller 4, and a distance K between the projected part 8 and a separation pressing point b where the tilted member 5 is allowed to abut on the separation roller 6 is set to such a distance that, even if the sheet materials with different sizes and sheet thicknesses are used, the stiffnesses thereof can be approximated. Thus, since the size of the outer diameter of the feed roller 4 is not constrained, the outer diameter thereof can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
