PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a small-size solenoid and eliminate the need of a link mechanism and the like in a decompression device using a solenoid. SOLUTION: First and second contact parts 56, 57 are interlinked and coupled with an exhaust valve 28 or an intake valve, and are installed to a cam follower 40. A valve cam slidably contacting with the first contact part 56 is installed to a camshaft 36, and a decompression cam 65 slidably contacting the second contact part 57 in a compression stroke is integrally installed to a rotor with a rotary solenoid 66 rotatable around the same axial line as the camshaft 36. A one-way clutch 67 connecting the decompression cam 65 and the camshaft 36 according to the rotation of a rotor due to excitation of the rotary solenoid 66 is installed between the decompression cam 65 and the camshaft 36.
