PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden on a patient by reducing a time for preexamination photographing for obtaining an optimal TI (inversion time) in IR-MRI. SOLUTION: This MRI apparatus for obtaining an MRI image by an ECG (electrocardiography) gated IR method comprises: a test photographing means for collecting an MRI image by applying a plurality of TI values set in advance; a means for selecting an optimal image from a plurality of sheets of image sensitivity obtained by this photographing means and obtaining the optimal TI value corresponding to this optimal image: and a main photographing means for performing main photographing by applying this optimal TI value as a photographing condition.
