PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating type magnetic recording medium high in density and low in noise. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the magnetic recording medium, a magnetic paint containing a ferromagnetic powder and a binder is applied onto a non-magnetic substrate. The magnetic paint contains of a liquid A consisting of the ferromagnetic powder and a solvent and a solution B of the binder, a supersonic wave is applied to the liquid A to subject the liquid A to dispersion treatment and then the liquid A and the solution B are mixed with each other.
