PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and securely conduct a reception inspection of a remote control signal. SOLUTION: This electronic appliance (an air purifier 1) includes a remote controller 33 for transmitting a predetermined signal corresponding to operation of switches 35a-35d, and a control circuit mounted with a receiving element 21 and a power circuit part 30 for supplying power to installed load parts 6, 8a, 10, 16, 18, 23, and is provided with an equipment main body for stopping the load parts 6, 8a, 10, 16, 18, 23 or operating in a predetermined mode on the basis of the signal received by the receiving element 21. A receiving element inspection process is provided, wherein the load parts 6, 8a, 10, 16, 23 are operated in a state that the control circuit generates noise maximally in a range the equipment main body actually operates, and an inspection whether the receiving element 21 can receive the signal from the remote controller 33 or not in that state is conducted.
