PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar heater for improving safety when using the heater without being hindered by a connecting cord and a control device and improving operability for the control device and a remote control to be operated. SOLUTION: This heater is constituted of a remote control transmitter 14, a holder 17 for holding the remote control transmitter 14, a flat heating element 11 with built-in heater, and a control means 12 for controlling energizing of the heater based on a signal from the remote control transmitter 14. Since the holder 17 is constituted to have a fixing means 20 to fix the holder 17 to a leg 18a, etc. of a table 18, a separated control means 12 of the flat heating element 11 is eliminated. As a result, safety at the time of using the heater is improved and an operation of the remote control transmitter 14 is made possible in a state of a user sitting on a chair, etc. without being hindered by the remote control transmitter 14.
