A gas chromatography analyte pre-concentrator has a tube (26) with a restricted outlet and packed with an adsorbent material (76), wherein the tube (26) serves as the liner of a chromatographic injector (20), as an adsorbent trap coupled to a chromatographic column (80), and/or as an adsorbent trap coupled to a headspace sampler (12). Heating device (28) allows the tube (26) to be heated. The analyte pre-concentrator can have a column isolating accessory (60) so that chromatographic column (80) can be temporarily isolated from substances flowing through the tube (26).
