<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To largely increase a sign pattern which can be generated in a single unit by enhancing the orthogonality between the signs in an optical correlator used for an optical sign demultiplexing/multiplexing communication. <P>SOLUTION: The optical correlator includes a frequency branching element 110 for frequency branching an optical pulse signal, a reflector 120 for reflecting each optical component frequency branched by the frequency branching element based on the diffusion sign/reverse diffusion sign on a frequency axis for an optical sign demultiplexing/multiplexing communication so as to form an optical path difference, and a frequency multiplexing element 110 for frequency multiplexing respective frequency components reflected on the reflector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
