<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent capable of giving liquid crystal displaying elements equipped with a liquid crystal aligning film giving consistently reliable favorable aligning of liquid crystal molecules by rubbing treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent comprises at least one polyamic acid or imidized polymer of polyamic acid with a particular bi- or tri-cyclic structure having an 8C or more alkyl group in the main chain and a 3C or more perfluoroalkyl group or an optionally substituted 6C or more 1,1-cycloalkylene group and so forth. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
