PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform power control for swiftly canceling out fluctuations even if the fluctuation in optical output power arises when a no signal state continues, and not to erroneously operate even when a no signal state lasts for a long time in an optical transmitter for performing the optical transmission of burst digital signals.
SOLUTION: An inverted signal (bar Q) of an input signal (Q) is generated and the two signals are supplied with gains, respectively. A first LD5 is driven by a current in accordance with the gain supplied input signal, and a second LD8 is driven by a current in accordance with the gain supplied inverted signal. At this time, a light signal output from the first LD5 is transmitted and optical output power from the first LD5 and the second LD8 are monitored respectively at a time. Then, two signals indicating monitoring results are supplied, and the amounts of the gains to be supplied to the input signal and the inversion signal are adjusted based on the added result.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
