摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which detects a passage location of transfer paper in a main scanning direction without an influence of the thickness of the paper, and determines an image forming location according to the passage location on the paper in the main scanning direction, to thereby realize stable image in formation. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging device comprises a writing means 130 for writing an image on an image carrier, a close contact line sensor 220 for detecting the passing location of the transfer paper in the main scanning direction, a sample hold means 230 for holding sensor output generated in synchronization with a driving clock of the close contact line sensor, a comparator 240 for comparing a holding result of the sample hold means with a predetermined value, a counter 250 for counting the driving clock of the close contact line sensor until an output changing point of the comparator, a paper type detecting sensor 260 for detecting the thickness of the transfer paper at a location upstream of the close contact line sensor, and a control means 110 for correcting a result of counting of the counter depending on the detected paper thickness, calculating passing location information of the transfer paper in the main scanning direction, and controlling a writing location on the tarnsfer paper by the writing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
