PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect non-jetting of ink of an output machine of an ink jet system. SOLUTION: Under controlling of a control section 1, an ink jet head section 2 prints regular print data to a printing area of a paper 11, and prints a predetermined mark classified by every color (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) of ink jetted by each head which constitutes the ink jet head section 2 to preset positions outside the printing area. This mark is imaged by a color imaging device 4. The control section 1 compares the imaging data with reference pattern data memorized beforehand, thereby detecting non-jetting of ink of the ink jet head section 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
