PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge file system and a recording medium where recorded information can be accessed from either of file systems by making the two file systems coexist. SOLUTION: In continuous recording areas in the recording medium 100, a first or second bit map table 101 of a first file system and a third table 102 of a second file system are recorded. Files 103 and 104 by the first file system is recorded on the recording medium 100. A computer system 105 corresponding to the first file system is capable of reproducing the files 103 and 104 on the basis of the first or second bit map table 101. In a computer system 106 mounting a conventional second file system, the files 103 and 104 can be accessed on the basis of the third table 102. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
