PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera for selecting a menu by processing a panned angle from an angular velocity obtained through panning the video camera vertically and horizontally to utilize the panned angle as an input operating signal. SOLUTION: When various functions of the video camera are set, the menu for making its setting possible is displayed (S32) within a view finder or a monitor and then by operating (S103, 104) the panning of the camera according to a direction detecting signal (S101) that is obtained by decomposing the panned angle of the video camera into a panned magnitude and a panned position, the menu is transferred (S34) and a mode is changed (S35).
