PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDA (personal digital assistant) for arbitrarily selecting equipment to be remotely controlled in response to the state of the equipment. SOLUTION: The PDA includes a control command data memory 1 for remote control, a controller 2 for converting selected data among a plurality of control command data for the remote control into a remote control infrared signal to output it, an operating part 3, a display 4 for displaying the control command data stored in the memory 1, a memory 5 with information for a PDA operation stored therein, an external interface 6, and an infrared communication part 7 for controlling the equipment by emitting light based on the infrared signal. The controller 2 stores the plurality of the control command data into the memory 1 in advance and outputs the converted infrared signal to the communication part 7 to emit light.
