PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital copying machine having a function which can be realized by using a simple structure without calling, each time, a characteristic value or a regulation value of a digital scanner by a microcomputer of a digital printer, in the case that the digital scanner and the digital printer are connected and the digital copying machine is realized. SOLUTION: In the digital copying machine 30, a printer side CPU 22 for controlling the printer 2 and the scanner 1, and a nonvolatile storage medium 25 for storing the characteristic value of the printer 2 are installed. In the case that identifying data peculiar to the scanner are previously input in a part 18b of a nonvolatile storage medium 18, the scanner 1 and the printer 2 are connected, and the digital copying machine 30 is realized, a function is installed wherein the CPU 22 copies a characteristic value of the nonvolatile storage medium 18 and the identifying data peculiar to the scanner in a part 25b of the nonvolatile storage medium 25, because a matter that at least a value of a specified region 25a of the nonvolatile storage medium 25 is not a specified value.
