PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wideband amplifier hard to cause characteristic deterioration. SOLUTION: An operation current adjustment means A detects band components of an output signal of an amplifier circuit 12 via a high-pass filter 14, and based on a height of the detected band of the signal when the band is lower than a predetermined value, an adjustment signal generation circuit 17 adjusts to decrease an operation current of the amplifier 12. Therefore, when it is used in an amplifier of a pickup of an optical disk apparatus, temperature of the optical pickup hardly rises, and deterioration of characteristic of the optical pickup is not caused even without a heat releasing means.
