A dehumidifying element, comprising adsorbing elements (1) having a plurality of first ventilating passages (3) and cooling elements (2) having a plurality of second ventilating passages (4) stacked each other, wherein opening parts (24) are provided, in frame shape, on the inside of the cooling elements (2) in plane direction to flow cooling air (Ab) through the opening parts (24), whereby, since the lengths of the second ventilating passages (4) can be reduced by an amount equivalent to the formation of the opening parts (24), the pressure loss of the cooling air (Ab) can be reduced, and the flow of the air can be increased, a heat transfer efficiency between the air and the adsorbing elements can be increased since the cooling air (Ab) comes into direct contact with the adsorbing elements (1) at the opening part (24) portions, and as the synergistic effect of an increase in flow of the cooling air (Ab) and an increase in heat transfer efficiency, the radiating action of heat of adsorption can be promoted and the dehumidifying element can develop a high level of dehumidifying capacity over a long period of time.
