<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell of which the cost is reduced and a life is prolonged by optimizing the composition of a positive electrode activator and a negative electrode capacity against a positive electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell comprises the positive electrode containing the positive electrode activator, the negative electrode containing a negative electrode activator, and an nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode activator is graphite or graphitization-retardant carbon, and the positive electrode activator is Li<SB>x</SB>Ni<SB>1-y-z</SB>Mn<SB>y</SB>Co<SB>z</SB>O<SB>2</SB>, wherein, y and z satisfy relations 0<y≤0.5, 0<z≤0.5, 0∠y+z≤0.75, and a relation z/x≤1 is satisfied in a state of charging. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
