<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston type compressor capable of suppressing local friction between a single head piston and a cylinder bore, reducing piston vibrations, and preventing the leakage of blow-by gas and lubricating oil. <P>SOLUTION: The piston type compressor comprises the cylinder bore 131, the single head piston 132 linearly reciprocating in the cylinder bore 131, and a movement converting mechanism converting rotating movement of a driving source to reciprocating linear movement of the single head piston 132. A tilting regulating member 153 is provided, which regulates tilting of the single head piston 132 by holding at least a part of the single head piston 132 on an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder bore 131. Therefore, the local friction between the single head piston 132 and the cylinder bore 131 is suppressed, and the piston vibrations are reduced.
