PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the omission time of reproduced data when jumping occurs. SOLUTION: When a reproducing point is jumped in a drive 1, a writing point of a ring buffer 4 is stored in a discontinuous point storage circuit 50. Data of jump destination are made to be written in the ring buffer 4 following data before the jump. When a leading point of the ring buffer 4 becomes a value equal to the writing point stored by the discontinuous point storage circuit 50, a readout operation of the ring buffer 4 is stopped. When a decode operation of data already written in a video code buffer 6 and an audio code buffer 8 is completed in a video decoder 7 and an audio decoder 9, data stored in the ring buffer 4 are reread and the decode operation is performed.
