PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus and a broadcast signal recording method for selecting a large-capacity memory means suited for the program software to be recorded from each kind of large-capacity memory means, in a television apparatus having a memory. SOLUTION: A multimedia recording apparatus records signals through a reception antenna 11 and a CATV receiver 12, is controlled by a CPU 15 and records the signals in a large-capacity memory 17 via a switch/IO 14 and an encoder 16.
