PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of a measured value of the flange height in a wheel shape measuring device for measuring by using a laser beam. SOLUTION: When irradiating a wheel of a running vehicle with the laser beam and measuring the wheel shape from the reflected beam, a reference groove provided on the wheel back face is measured, and the distance from a flange end on the wheel inrush side to the reference groove is compared with the distance from a flange end on the wheel retreat side to the reference groove, and the longer distance is used as the measured value.
