SCROLL COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient operation of a scroll compressor in response to variation of operation conditions. SOLUTION: This scroll compressor compresses gas by combining a spiral lap 3b of a turning scroll 3 and a spiral lap 2b of a fixed scroll 2 and turning the turning scroll 3 in relation to the fixed scroll 2 for reducing volume of compression chamber formed between the lap 3b of the turning scroll 3 and the lap 2b of the fixed scroll 2. This compressor is provided with a release hole 16 opening on the outermost circumference side surface of the lap 2b of the fixed scroll 2 and a release mechanism 24 controlling communication between the compression chamber formed at a position of the release hole and a low pressure side in a suction side in response to operation conditions.
