PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method preventing settling, which is the biggest drawback of conventional log house construction (i.e., shrinkage due to wood drying, 14 cm for a round log in seven years, 7 cm for a rectangular log in five years), and securing the height of an eaves-side wall for a second story to allow for 100% space use and ventilation measures. SOLUTION: Exterior walls are constructed by vertical log construction method to overcome the drawback. At the same time, an effective height of 1350 mm or more is secured for the wall height of the second story to secure service areas. An air layer is provided between interior and exterior walls and ventilating equipment is installed therein. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
