PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a foldable portable telephone by decreasing the size of a rod antenna, projecting in the thickness direction or the width direction of the case. SOLUTION: The foldable portable radio 1 comprises two cases 2 and 3 foldable about a rotary shaft part 4, and a rod antenna 12 provided on one case 1. The rod antenna 12 can be pulled out, from a hole 13a made through the folding outer surface at the widthwise end part 2b of one case 2 in the vicinity of the rotary shaft part 4, in a direction of receding gradually from a first imaginary reference plane 2c extending in the thick direction and the longitudinal direction of one case 2, and from a second imaginary reference plane 2d extending in the width direction and the longitudinal direction of one case 2.
