The method involves sending the data (D) from a sending station (SS) to a receiving station (RS) via at least two relay stations (HS1-HS3) and sending the data again if an inadequate transmission takes place on the basis of a receiver side request and/or the lack of a receiver side acknowledgement (ACK). The request or acknowledgement is only generated by the receiving station and returned to the sending station. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a communications station for implementing the inventive method.
