<p>A sync signal detecting device and sync signal detecting method that improve the reading performance of input signals after resolution of defect state or the like. Under a predetermined condition, after no sync signals are detected from an input signal for a predetermined detection period and then an interpolation of sync signals is commenced, it is determined whether sync signals are sequentially detected from the input signal in appropriate timings. Then, a re-sync operation is performed, in accordance with a result of this determination, between the sync signals detected from the input signal and reproduced sync signals. This can provide an interpolation of sync signals to immediately resolve a state of using sync signals having different timings from the originally expected ones.</p> |
