<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the arranged places of commodities in real time and increase the convenience of users by allowing a retrieval to be performed from user side terminals through a communication network. <P>SOLUTION: This retrieval system comprises tag readers 12 having books 60 installed in bookracks 24 disposed by unit quantity, reading the identification information (tag numbers) of the books 60 written in non-contact IC tags 62 attached to the books 24 arranged in the bookrack 24, and outputting read identification signals and the place information (bookrack numbers) of the bookracks 24 in which the books are installed, a book database 18 storing the identification information outputted by the tag readers 12 and the place information in the state of being related with each other, and a Web server 22 receiving retrieval condition information transmitted from terminals 28 and 29 through the Internet 24, retrieving the books 60 satisfying the requirements for retrieval from the book data base 18, and returning the arrangement information for the retrieved books 60 to the requesting terminals 28 and 29 through the Internet 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
