<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily read optical information, using a general-purpose portable terminal with a built-in camera. <P>SOLUTION: A thin rectangular box-like adapter 8 has a recess 9a on its body 9 on the upper side for removably fitting a camera-built-in portable telephone 1 therein. The body 9 has a read opening 10 having a dust plate 10a at the top end face, and a connecting hole 11, having a dust plate 11a at a position corresponding to an imaging part 5 of the telephone 1 on its upside (the lower side of the recess 9a). A hollow 9b is provided in the body 9 for forming an optical path for connecting them. The body 9 (hollow 9b) contains a lens 12 for enlarging a bar code B in the abscissa (X-axis) direction, to image it by means of an imaging part 5, and a reflector 13 for bending the optical axis O of the imaging part 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
